doctors-app is designed from the ground up with the best standards and practices, and we can ensure that all your data is safe and secure. However, this platform is not allowed to be used in the United States or the European Union, and it does not comply with the requirements for HIPAA. Using it in either jurisdiction is a direct violation of these Terms of Service and will likely cause you — the doctor — to face civil penalties.
1. Accepting these terms
By creating a practice, opening an account, or using doctors-app in any form, you agree to everything on this page. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Not allowed in the United States or the European Union
This platform is not allowed to be used in the United States or the European Union. doctors-app may not be used from, by, or for any practice, doctor, or patient located in either region — including use through a VPN, through an intermediary, or for patients who are residents of either region. This restriction is a core condition of the service, and accounts that break it are suspended.
3. HIPAA and EU health-data law
doctors-app does not comply with the requirements for HIPAA (the US Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). It is not covered by, and does not qualify as, a HIPAA business associate. It also does not meet the requirements for processing health data under EU law (GDPR and related rules). We do not sign business associate agreements, and nothing in the service should be read as HIPAA- or GDPR-compliant.
4. What using it in the US or EU means
Using doctors-app in either jurisdiction is a direct violation of these Terms of Service, and it will likely cause you — the doctor — to face civil penalties under your own country’s health-privacy laws. Any fines, penalties, or legal action from regulators, patients, or insurers are yours alone. doctors-app accepts no responsibility for them.
5. Your data, and how we build
The restriction above is about legal jurisdiction, not about how the app is built. doctors-app is designed from the ground up with the best standards and practices — encrypted connections, practices isolated from one another, backups, and strict access controls — and we can ensure that all your data is safe and secure on the platform.
6. Nicaraguan data and health law
Practices that use NicaDoc must follow Ley No. 787 (Personal Data Protection) and Ley No. 423 (General Health Law). Breaking either law while using NicaDoc is a violation of these Terms of Service. That includes: recording a patient's data without their consent, or for a purpose they weren't told about; opening, copying or sharing a patient's record without a reason related to their care; letting someone use another person's account, or giving access to people who don't need it; ignoring a patient's request to see, correct or delete their data; and deleting or changing a medical record to hide what happened. When we learn of a violation, we may pause or close the practice's account. The practice alone is responsible for any fines, claims or penalties that follow. Our Legal page explains what each law asks and how NicaDoc supports it.

We may update these terms as the service evolves. When a change is significant, we give practices notice before it takes effect. Continuing to use doctors-app after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
